Hartford Surgery Center
Hartford Hospital, founded in 1854, is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England, and the third-floor Hartford Surgery Center encompasses three operating rooms and two procedure rooms. Specific interests and criteria for the flooring included a minimally textured surface, slip resistance and a speckled look, and Roppe Envire Rubber Sheet and Tile provides natural resilience, exceptional wear resistance and dimensional stability.
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center
Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center needed to consider resilient products for high traffic areas that required low maintenance, had a slip-resistant option and that were appealing/modern in appearance. Several different products were selected from the Roppe product line which allowed the flooring to follow similar palettes within the facility, while meeting the specific needs of the spaces. The Center utilized the vinyl wood planks (Northern Timbers) in conjunction with the vinyl leather series (Northern Leathers), two products that flowed seamlessly since the product thicknesses are the same.
Westerly High School
The existing flooring at Westerly High school, a VCT, was a challenge, particularly at the entrances. The school battled heavy moisture situations due to weather in Rhode Island. Because they were heavily waxed, they were slippery and required extensive matting for walk-off. Slip/fall incidences were a concern and did happen. Roppe Smooth Marbleized Rubber Tiles were used in creative, unique design patterns, and since the rubber flooring installation, the school reports that they haven’t had a single slip/fall incident.
